Activity Suggestion for November

The day after Thanksgiving is typically a day when people flock to shopping malls to begin their Christmas shopping. This year, why not avoid the crowds at the mall by spending the day outside enjoying some fresh air and physical activity. At the end of the day you’ll feel rested and relaxed rather than rushed and stressed. And, you may find unexpected gift sources along the way.

  • Walk one of your favorite trails, listen for birds and watch for other wildlife. As you enjoy the peace, quiet, and natural beauty around you, consider who on your gift list would appreciate a gift certificate for walks in the woods this holiday season.

  • Hike at one of the Missouri Department of Conservation sites like Powder Valley or Busch Wildlife. Check out their gift shop afterwards and you might get some of your shopping done there.

  • Visit a public garden like Missouri Botanical Garden to look at how it is designed to capture winter interest. Let the surroundings inspire you to find gifts which encourage activity for your loved ones.
