Performance evaluation
Performance evaluations are done in partnership with your supervisor. Talk with your supervisor to learn when your performance evaluation will be scheduled. Be aware of your job description and other criteria on which you will be evaluated.  Performance evaluation policies and tools

Promotion
Full-time, non-regular faculty members may participate in the voluntary Non-Tenure Track Promotion System

Professional development
Extension educators must keep their knowledge current and skills sharp. MU Extension encourages faculty and staff to constatntly learn and improve by providing professional development opportunities, scholarships and awards. Professional organzations provide networking and mentoring opportunities between experienced and novice extension professionals.

Educational Assistance and Tuition Reduction Program
Eligible employees receive a 75% reduction in tuition and education fees for up to six credit hours per semester.  Eligible spouses and dependents of vested (5 years contiguous service) employees receive a 50% reduction in tuition and fees.  Read the details in the HR policy manual

WebApps reporting tool
WebApps is the Web-based information management tool used by MU Extension employees for planning, scheduling and reporting on programs; creating reports from programming data, maintaining customer lists, absence reporting, and enrolling in in-service education (ISE) opportunities. Technology tools
MU Extension supplies each specialist with a computer equipped with software to enhance the delivery of high quality programs. It is your responsibility to make the most effective use of these tools in designing and implementing your programs.  

Extension Technology and Computer Services (ETCS) sets up university-issued hardware and provides technical support to all MU Extension faculty and staff.

Frequently used collaborative tools provided by ETCS:

  • Microsoft Lync for instant messaging,  conference calls, video conferencing and screen-sharing.
  • Adobe Connect for online meetings
  • Microsoft SharePoint portals for collaborating on group projects
  • Moodle online course software

Communication and marketing tools
MU Extension Communications and Marketing group is focused on helping our faculty and staff communicate their messages to target audiences in ways that enhance our organizational brand. Consistency is very big part of that, so it is important to be familiar with the MU Extension Style and usage guide.
