The University of Missouri offers full-time faculty and staff employees who are in benefit-eligible positions the following benefits as described in the benefit plan document.
Totals of sick leave, vacation and personal day hours are listed on your paycheck stub.
Paid sick time (12 days)
Twelve sick days per year are accumulated at a rate of one day per month. There is no maximum accrual.

Paid vacation
Accrual rates shown below apply to full-time (100% FTE) employees. Benefit-eligible employees with less than 100% FTE (99% to 75%) accrue vacation time on a pro-rata basis.
Vacation time is accrued during probationary period*, but it cannot be used until the probationary period is satisfactorily completed.

Paid personal days (Four days)
Four days per year are earned on the employee’s anniversary date. Two days may be used during the probationary period*. The remaining two may be used when the probationary period is satisfactorily completed. You do not accrue personal days, so “use or lose” before your next employee anniversary date.

New Year’s Day - January 1
Martin Luther King Day
Memorial Day
Independence Day - July 4
Labor Day
Thanksgiving Day
Friday following Thanksgiving
Christmas Day - December 25
In the event a paid holiday should fall on a Saturday or a Sunday, MU will recognize the Friday or Monday closest to the actual holiday as the paid holiday.

* Note: Probationary periods do not apply for those employees hired on a yearly contract basis.
