A message of welcome, thanks and congratulations
Earlier today, Dr. Marshall Stewart was named as the vice chancellor of engagement and extension at MU. I am pleased to extend a warm welcome to Marshall, thank the search committee for their wonderful work and say congratulations to MU Extension faculty and staff as a new era of extension and engagement at MU will soon begin.
Under the leadership of Dr. Stewart, I am confident that MU Extension faculty and staff will tackle the challenges of our times and build on the university’s rich land-grant tradition.
Please join me in welcoming Marshall Stewart to the MU Extension family.
— Jo Turner

2017 budget sessions
All MU Extension employees are invited to take advantage of an opportunity to learn more about the university’s budget assumptions for 2017 and the impact on MU Extension. To see the budget presentations and overview documents, visit the Information sessions about 2017 budget Web page.
MU Extension brochure
Need a general brochure that quickly and easily explains who we are and how we can help Missourians? Publication UED1120 (PDF) does just that.
Created using colorful images, beloved Truman the Tiger and targeted language to attract a general population, this is a great educational piece for those who don’t understand the breadth of extension’s services.
You can order them easily on the internal ordering system by typing in “UED1120” in the “List by item prefix” field.
Event templates and kits
Templates and kits to promote and support events and programs that are designed in accordance with University of Missouri Extension's graphic standards and may be downloaded for use by county, campus and system offices. Templates are available for fliers, signage, handouts and PowerPoints. Find available designs here. http://extension.missouri.edu/staff/communications/templatesandkits.aspx
New tabletop displays
Are you hosting an upcoming event for researchers, state or regional council members, legislators, or other constituents? If so, you need to reserve one of our new tabletop displays.
This display speaks directly to researchers and communicates the opportunities MU Extension has to collaborate with them on getting their research to the people of Missouri.
This display is designed to be used at events where constituents, such as donors, legislators and council members are in attendance. It communicates how MU Extension affects lives, businesses and communities across the state with specific examples of successes and available programming.
The three-panel displays measure 64”w x 32”t and will fit perfectly on a 6-foot or an 8-foot table. Each display weighs 19 pounds and can be set up in just minutes. Each display has a handle and a shoulder strap for convenient transport.
Due to the weight, the display cannot be shipped so it must be picked up in Columbia. Contact Laura Lindsey at email@example.com to reserve.
Have you heard about MUEXT101?
On August 3 a social media campaign called MU Extension 101 was launched. The purpose is to expand our online audience by showing the diverse ways we affect people’s lives. Every Monday and Thursday, a new picture will be posted on Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest and Instagram. Visit http://extension.missouri.edu/muext101/home.aspx to see the previous posts.
Your assistance is requested to ensure the success of this campaign:
- Help spread the message by sharing, retweeting, pinning and liking the posts on the extension accounts on your personal pages and on your county social media accounts.
- If you have an engaging picture that helps tell the extension story (and you have the proper photo release signed), please send it to firstname.lastname@example.org along with a brief description and how the picture connects to an extension program, service or publication. Photos should be high-resolution.
