MU Extension Insider, March 2, 2009 provides the latest developments on the FY2010 budget.

Feb. 16 statements from Brady Deaton and Michael Ouart

"We are very pleased that Gov. Nixon has identified funds to enable MU Extension to be part of the solution to Missouri's economic crisis," University of Missouri Chancellor Brady Deaton said. "Extension's ability to stimulate economic development, create jobs, train the workforce, educate Missourians about nutrition and preventative health care and provide pathways for our youth to contribute to Missouri’s economic success is being recognized and we are grateful.  We know the millions of citizens across Missouri who have benefitted from Extension celebrate this news."

"I echo Chancellor Deaton’s message of gratitude to the Governor and our appreciation to the supporters and customers of Extension for their commitment," MU Extension Vice Provost Michael Ouart said.

As the legislative budget process moves forward, we will continue to emphasize that MU Extension is an integral part of higher education in the state.
