Vice Provost's Award
for Outstanding Achievement

Purpose
The Vice Provost's Award for Outstanding Achievement recognizes excellent performance by University of Missouri or Lincoln University campus or regional faculty or professional staff members in planning, conducting and evaluating a multiyear outreach program.

Award
Two awards – one to a regional faculty member and one to a campus faculty member – are presented. Recipients receive a cash award in the amount of $1,000. A  symbol of recognition is presented by the Vice Provost and Director of Cooperative Extension at a regional or campus event.

Eligibility
All University of Missouri and Lincoln University campus and regional faculty and professional staff members with at least five years' experience in university outreach are eligible. Members of the immediate administrative staff of the Vice Provost and Director of Cooperative Extension, regional directors, campus extension administrators and members of the Fellowship and Awards Committee are not eligible.

Criteria
The award is given for outstanding performance in outreach programming as indicated by:

  1. Leadership
  2. High-quality program design, implementation and evaluation
  3. Responsiveness to the high-priority needs of the people of Missouri
  4. Program impact.

Nominations and Selection
University of Missouri and Lincoln University campus and regional faculty and professional staff members may make a nomination by completing the attached nomination form. Nomination materials should include a current vitae or resume; one or more testimonials; three or more letters of professional references from colleagues, supervisor and clientele; or other documents related to the award criteria, such as success stories.

Nominations are reviewed by the Fellowship and Awards Committee appointed by the Vice Provost and Director of Cooperative Extension. The committee — comprised of representatives of UMEA, Epsilon Sigma Phi, the UM campuses, Lincoln University and the Vice Provost's Office — makes recommendations to the Vice Provost, who makes the final selection.
