Extension Teamwork Award

Purpose
The Extension Teamwork Award recognizes University of Missouri and Lincoln University campus and regional faculty and professional staff members who have collaborated on an interdisciplinary and/or cross-campus team to develop, implement and evaluate a specific educational response to a specific need of the people of Missouri.

Award
Recipients receive $2,000 to be used in support of the recognized program. A symbol of recognition is presented to each team member by the Vice Provost and Director of Cooperative Extension at University of Missouri Extension's Annual Conference.

Eligibility
Groups of University of Missouri or Lincoln University campus or regional faculty or professional staff members representing two or more disciplines and/or extension units (multicampus, multiregion or combination thereof) working together to plan, implement and evaluate a specific educational program are eligible. Members of the immediate administrative staff of the Vice Provost and Director of Cooperative Extension, regional directors, campus extension administrators and members of the Fellowship and Awards Committee are not eligible.

Criteria
Each team member should have played a major role in completing or making significant progress toward accomplishing identifiable goals of the program (rather than a single activity).

Nominations are evaluated on:

  1. Clear identification of the educational need and target audience

  2. Well-defined program objectives

  3. Use of interdisciplinary/multi-unit approach

  4. Innovation and problem-solving approach

  5. Evaluation and evidence of impact.

Nominations and Selection
University of Missouri and Lincoln University campus and regional faculty and professional staff members may make a nomination by completing the attached nomination form. Nominations materials should include program materials, testimonials, success stories, letters of support and biographical information about the nominee.

Nominations are reviewed by the Fellowship and Awards Committee appointed by the Vice Provost and Director of Cooperative Extension. The committee -- comprised of representatives of UMEA, Epsilon Sigma Phi, the UM campuses, Lincoln University and the Vice Provost's Office -- makes recommendations to the Vice Provost, who makes the final selection.
