Who can join 4-H?

The Putnam County 4-H Program (as well as for all for Missouri) is open to all youth from ages 5 to 18. It doesn't matter where you live, in town or in the country, 4-H is open to all young people.  Putnam County 4-H projects and programs are varied enough so that there is something to interest everyone. And remember that adults no matter what age are invited to be a part of 4-H as a volunteer or leader as well.

Joining 4-H is very easy. The program year in Putnam County (for our traditional club program) runs from October 1st to September 31st. This is because our fair is in September, when the year for the rest of Missouri begins. Contact the Putnam County Extension Office at (660) 947-2705 or e-mail us at putnamco@missouri.edu to request more specific information (what projects are available, etc.). Mary Oden is the county staff person that is in charge of our program here. Her e-mail is odenm@missouri.edu.

There is a small fee to join 4-H here. Check with our office for particulars. Also, some projects may have some additional charges for materials, field trips, etc. Member and leader forms are included below for your convenience. You can also pick them up at our office at the 1st floor of the courthouse in Unionville.
