This publication is a guide to growing vegetables and herbs successfully under midwestern conditions. Although written for the home gardener, this publication may be equally useful to teachers, students, market gardeners, and residents of areas outside the midwest. You'll find detailed information about major vegetables, such as recommended varieties, when and how to plant, care, harvesting, disease and insect problems, and answers to commonly asked questions. Information on minor vegetables and herbs is also included. No specific chemical measures for pest control are given because they are continually being developed and are subject to change.
