Swine production has been a mainstay in Missouri agriculture for many years. MU's Management Information Record program shows that swine, over the years, has paid a higher return on investment than any other Missouri farm commodity.

Chapters include records; feasibility study; selection and addition of breeding stock; facility design and operation; routine health procedures; nutrition and feeding program; general farm management considerations; and strategy for buying and selling. Authors of the publication are members of the Commercial Agriculture swine focus team.

The financial appendix has spreadsheets for 1,200-, 600-, 300- and 150-sow models. The 1,200-sow model has spreadsheets for both farrow-to-finish and weaner pig operations.
