Adding urea to soil can increase soil pH under the proper conditions. The scientific reactions of urea in soil, urea concentration and soil pH after urea application are all discussed. The factors affecting the success of adding soil nitrogen, such as tillage practices, fertilization and environmental conditions, can be found in this publication as well.
