Program Information

Eat Well, Be Well With Diabetes is a program designed to provide you with practical information and skills needed to self-manage diabetes and promote optimal health.  The program teaches the many aspects of diabetes self-care with a strong focus on nutrition.

The program is for anyone who has type 2 diabetes or pre-diabetes.  Spouses and other family members of those with diabetes will also benefit from this program.

So, what does the class teach me?

  • The basics of type 2 diabetes and self care such as how to manage blood sugar.
  • How to understand food labels to make better dietary choices.
  • Meal planning using the Plate Method and carbohydrate counting.
  • Blood sugar monitoring and other important aspects of diabetes self-care.

The sessions use hands-on activities to encourage discussion and sharing among all participants.
