Summer annual broadleaf
An annual twining or trailing vine that may reach as much as 3-1/2 feet in length. Seedlings have cotyledons that are linear and without hairs. Stems are erect at first, then become twining or creeping and branched at the base. A membranous sheath (ocrea) surrounds the stem at the base of each leaf petiole, which helps to distinguish this weed from almost all other vining species that have a similar leaf shape. Leaves are alternate and triangular to heart-shaped with a pointed tip. Basal lobes point inward toward the petiole. Flowers are inconspicuous and greenish white in color.
