Sweet corn

• Sweet corn is wind-pollinated. Therefore, to facilitate pollination, plant several short rows rather than a single row.
• Isolate yellow and white varieties and also yellow varieties from bicolor varieties. In the garden, this is accomplished by planting varieties two weeks apart.
• Planting early will avoid worm and bird problems.
• Approximate planting per person per year, fresh, 15 to 25 feet
• Approximate planting per person per year, process, 30 to 50 feet
• 0.25 pound of seeds for 100 feet of row
• Minimum row space if hand cultivated, 36 inches
• Minimum row space if using field implements, 42 inches
