The Northwest Missouri Regional Council of Governments
is an extension of the 40 city and 5 county governmental units contained in the
extreme northwest corner of the state, serving as a tool for local elected
officials to accomplish those things which each cannot do as well alone.
It is governed by a council of all cities and counties under the direction of
an Executive Committee as the governing body, with staff located in Maryville.
The Northwest area includes Atchison, Gentry, Holt, Nodaway, and Worth Counties.
Membership in the Council is voluntary. It is the responsibility of elected
