COLUMBIA, Mo. – Kevin Wilson of St. Louis received the Vice Provost’s Award for Outstanding Achievement from University of Missouri Extension. Michael Ouart, MU vice provost and director of extension, made the presentation.

Wilson, director of MU Extension’s Small Business and Technology Development Center in St. Louis, was honored for his work with area small businesses. Wilson has helped his clients attract more than $33 million in investments this year. During the last three years, Wilson and his team have helped small businesses increase sales by more than $121 million and attract $107 million in investments; in the past four years, those businesses were able to create or retain more than 2,200 jobs in the St. Louis area.

More than 9,000 business owners and entrepreneurs rely on the office for training programs and individual counseling.
