Cardboard boat racers earn $21,515 for area food bank

COLUMBIA, Mo.– Whether they sank in epic fashion or crossed the finish line in record time, the result was the same – thousands of meals raised for The Food Bank for Central and Northeast Missouri. More than $21,500 was brought in by the crews of 50 cardboard boats during the third annual Float Your Boat for the Food Bank race held Saturday at the Bass Pro Shops Lake in northeastern Columbia.
