COLUMBIA, Mo.– Christopher Bouchard has been named the state director of University of Missouri Extension’s Small Business and Technology Development Centers.
Interim director since 2009, Bouchard succeeds Max Summers, who has accepted a three-year special projects assignment.
Bouchard will lead small-business development specialists statewide on professional business analysis, consultations and educational opportunities for small-business owners.
Bouchard has been associated with the university since 1992. Prior to that he owned two small businesses and was an officer in the U.S. Air Force. He has been a Court Appointed Special Advocate volunteer since 2008, is an elder of his church, past officer of the Central Missouri Humane Society, past president of the Columbia Northwest Rotary Club and past president of the board of directors of Big Brothers Big Sisters.
From 2010 through 2012, the Missouri SBTDCs and Missouri Procurement Technical Assistance Centers assisted clients in creating $2.5 billion in economic impact, including creating or retaining 32,961 jobs, increasing sales by $986 million, acquiring investments of $649.1 million, winning government contracts of $857.4 million, and obtaining research awards of $20.1 million.
