COLUMBIA, Mo. – Making the best better for generations of Missouri 4-H’ers, Frank Graham of Columbia joined the Missouri 4-H Hall of Fame Aug. 14 at the Missouri State Fair.

Graham, a National 4-H Hall of Fame laureate, has been involved in 4-H for most of his 91 years. He joined 4-H at the age of 10, and after attending the University of Missouri on a baseball scholarship, Graham worked as an MU Extension agent. In 1942, he became director of Extension 4-H Youth Programs at the University of Missouri, and over the course of a 33-year career as director, earned the moniker “Mister 4-H.” Graham is the last surviving member of the original board of the Missouri 4-H Foundation.

The Missouri 4-H Foundation recognizes individuals who have created a legacy of service to 4-H by honoring them with membership in the Missouri 4-H Hall of Fame. “These leaders have made exceptional contributions to the lives of Missouri 4-H members,” said Missouri 4-H Foundation Executive Director Cheryl Reams.

Hall of Fame inductees from 35 counties established a legacy totaling 1,600 years of service to 4-H. A record crowd of 650 family members and friends attended the fifth annual event.
