Freeze food properly, March 8

    Freeze food properly

Freezing food can save money, provide convenience and prevent food waste. Many foods can be frozen if the proper techniques are followed.

    Freezer storage tips

    1. Freezer temperature should be 0 degrees Fahrenheit or below.

    2. Date food packages with an expiration date according to the maximum storage time recommended. Longer storage is not dangerous, but flavors and textures will begin to deteriorate.

    3. Use heavy-duty foil, moisture- and vapor-proof plastic bags, freezer wrap or freezer containers as packaging.

    4. Freeze home frozen foods in the coldest part of freezer.
