Getting Connected
Telecommunication Community Resource Centers

Sandra McKinnon, Consumer & Family Economics/Information Technology Specialist

We live in fascinating times with opportunity like no one has seen before. Getting connected now means much more than picking up the phone.

Throughout the state of Missouri, Telecommunication Community Resource Centers (TCRCs) connect you to the information highway and to resources from around the world.

TCRCs live up to their name. With a location near you, TCRCs are learning centers where you can:

Northeast Missouri is served by a TCRC in Mexico and Kirksville. Each is equipped with public access computers, a computer training and satellite programming classroom, a conference room, a multimedia lab, and an interactive video (ITV) classroom.

ITV allows you to see, hear and interact with people at a remote site. For example, for a staff meeting, instead of all driving to one spot, staff could meet in Kirksville and Mexico to share ideas and updates and conduct training while still being together.

When your next satellite program is scheduled, or when you need a bank of computers to train your staff on new software, the TCRCs are there for you.
