Contributor Highlight - My fellow Missing Piece co-conspirators, I mean co-contributors, asked me to do a little "bio" on myself. I, like Sheryl, enjoy sharing information and resources with people. I have found information and resources to be very helpful to me when Im learning or have a problem to solve, but I also find it to be a great way to network, learn about/from others, and learn about myself. I work for University Extension and have the title of Human Development Specialist. Ive had people ask me about how I develop humans, I dont. You folks do that without my help, but I know something about that and share that information with you including developmental stages like infants, teens, adults, etc. We may talk about cognitive, social, physical, or emtional development. Other aspects could include sexuality, parenting, aging, physical and mental health, communication and other family life issues.
I am a licensed clinical social worker. Thus, I have a very active interest in mental health and relationship issues among people. I also had/have another career field, which was in agriculture that I sort of abandoned. Some things do come back though. Our office has been without an agronomist for a year, so I am "fielding" a few questions as a horticulturist.
All in all, I enjoy learning as well as teaching and helping folks attain their goals, just as Ive been helped to realize mine. Right now I live in Palmyra and enjoy the more rural pace of a small town. My fiancée lives in Columbia, MO, so I get to visit the "big" city every other weekend. However, its always nice to get back to a quieter place. I grew up in the west (Montana) and have made an educational and career trek both south and east. I believe Im as far east as I want to go.
