MEAFCS Board Meeting

May 6, 2005

 

The Board meeting was held via CENTRA, with Mary Gosche, Janet LaFon, Maude Kelly, Judy Lueders, Kris Jenkins, Nancy Flood, and Phyllis Flanigan on line.  Mary called the meeting to order at 1:00 P.M.

 

Mary volunteered to be a voting delegate to NEAFCS in Philadelphia.  She asked if there were any other volunteers, but no one volunteered.

 

Committee Reports

 

Professional Development:

Mary asked for ideas on professional development that might be able to be presented at Annual Conference.  No one had specific recommendations, but Nancy Flood reported that ESP has a grant for professional development and if there was anything significant that could be suggested there was a possibility of partnering.  Nancy will report back after meeting with ESP.  Janet LaFon expressed satisfaction in the idea of forming partnerships.

The Treasurer’s Report showed a Beginning Balance on February 1, 2005 of $4865.38.  There was no income.  Expenses totaled $833.70.  There is a May 1, 2005 balance of $4031.68.  The checking account total is $942.26.

 

Nancy Flood reported that she enjoyed the JCEP Meeting.  Nancy reported that it was good to see Missouri programs featured.  She visited with three Congressional representatives.  Nancy will do an article to be posted on the MEAFCS web site.

 

New Business

 

Jo Britt Rankin was not available to give an up-date.

 

Mary Gosche suggested a “Ghost Tour” as a possible activity for the “States Night Out” in Philadelphia.  The tour originates in the circle part of the city and is not expensive.  Janet LaFon agreed that any group activity is good.  Mary Gosche will explore the tour as an option.

 

Mary reported that this was the last scheduled meeting until annual conference.  Additional meetings could be scheduled if needed.  Mary will open the meeting at Annual Conference before turning the official

responsibilities over to the President elect after the election.
