The Professional Achievement Award is a recognition presented by the Missouri Extension Association of Family and Consumer Sciences (MEAFCS).  The award recognizes regional or state Extension Human Environmental Science (HES) Specialists for leadership and implementation of well-planned Extension HES programs with results and accomplishments, and for their attained and planned personal and professional growth. 

 

The award will be given annually to an Extension HES Specialist with more than 2 years but less than 10 years service for this outstanding record.  Members eligible for Rookie of the Year (offered by the University of Missouri Extension Association), Distinguished Service and past Professional Achievement or Distinguished Service Award recipients are not eligible.  A degree in Human Environmental Sciences or a related field is required. 

 

The Professional Achievement Award will be presented at the MEAFCS annual meeting. The eligibility requirements in addition to term of service are:

 

  1. Have developed and executed a well-planned program with results and accomplishments.  Examples of accomplishments are to be cited. 

 

  1. Have held membership in MEAFCS for 2 or more years. 

 

  1. Indicate evidence of professional growth through credit or non-credit courses, work toward an advanced degree, professional association meetings, travel study, etc. 

 

  1. Indicate participation in professional associations through offices, chairmanships, etc. and membership in related professional associations.  Membership in honorary societies and civic and social clubs is not to be included. 

 

  1. Hold a degree in Human Environmental Sciences or related field for at least 2 years.

2.      Professional Improvement                                                         25

3.      Professional association membership and participation       25
