Ozarks Homesteading Expo on September 6th and 7th at the Newton County Fairgrounds

Join folks from all over the Ozarks as they learn about homesteading, renewable energy, and natural products from some of the best in the business. Conveniently located in Neosho, Missouri at the Newton County Fairgrounds, an easy drive from anywhere in the four-state area. Plan to spend a day or the whole weekend and hang out with like-minded people.

Everything from alternative energy information to gardening and goat and chicken raising... if it has to do with homesteading, self-reliant living, healthy eating, healthy living, homeschooling and farm equipment and supplies you will find it at the expo…and of course, there's food and music!

Salsa Canning Class on September 23rd at the Pineville Community Center

There will be a Salsa Canning Class on Monday, September 23rd from 6pm to 8pm at the Pineville Community Center. The cost is $20 per person and you will need to come by the Extension Office to fill out a registration form along with payment (cash or check only) by September 19th. The class space is limited so it is first come first serve. To sign-up, contact the McDonald County Extension Office at (417) 223-4775.

Do you know the nutrient value of your hay or are you just guessing? Knowing the nutrient value of your hay supply allows producers to make informed decisions on how much supplemental feed is necessary to meet the nutritional needs of your animals.

Fee: begins at $25.00 per sample for basic hay test.
