- Prairie Fork Work Day Dec. 9
MPF and the Missouri Dept. of Conservation have organized a prairie work day at Prairie Fork Expansion Area and the adjacent Prairie Fork Conservation Area in Callaway County east of Fulton on Wednesday, Dec. 9, 9:00 a.m. to noon.
Volunteers are needed to help with prairie restoration work, which may include fence removal, broadcast seeding, transplanting, and invasive plant removal. Wear protective clothing and bring gloves.
We'll have a potluck lunch inside following the work; bring a dish or sandwich fixings to share. RSVP to info@moprairie.com or 573-893-5446 so we know how many to expect and can contact you in case of adverse weather (rain/snow date is Dec. 16).
Directions: Take Interstate 70 to Exit 61 (Williamsburg exit); go north to Williamsburg and at four-way stop, go left (west) on Highway D. Go west on Highway D for about 2.5 miles, then go left (south) on Highway D, crossing over 1-70. Continue south on Highway D for about 1.5 miles.
