Pilot program

Due to personnel changes, we are reevaluating how this pilot program will be administered in the future. Please check back for updates.

Examinations

Examinations will be offered twice a year, in the spring and fall. The exam dates will be announced
on this website. Written examinations for all ranks are held in the morning followed by a
practical examination in the afternoon for Apprentice and Journeyman Beekeeper candidates.
Results will be sent to exam takers within two weeks of the testing date.

Required documentation of volunteer hours, public service credits, etc. must be submitted to
the MBP director four weeks prior to the exam day (see Appendix H in program requirements manual).
Only candidates who have completed all the requirements for advancement will be permitted to take the exams.

The exams are held at select MU Extension county offices and research centers.
The spring exams are held on a Saturday in late March,
during the University of Missouri's spring break; the fall exams are held on the Saturday
before the annual Missouri State Beekeepers Association (MSBA) meeting.
(For more examination information, see Appendix C in the program requirements manual.)
