Extension's most often recognized or acknowledged youth development program is the classic 4-H club program.
Many other equally effective, though less well known, youth development programs are available as well:
Classroom Embryology (Sometimes referred to as "Hatching Chicks in the Classroom") Coming to a classroom near you in April or May!
"Gee-Whiz Science" School-based and community-based hands-on science exploration.
"Going the Distance" Team and leadership development for youth and youth-serving professionals.
These are all important parts of the comprehensive youth development program conducted by the University of Missouri Extension in northeast Missouri.
In addition, 4-H youth development staff in northeast Missouri are also often working behind the scenes with other professionals in the community to better the conditions and climate for families and all youth in the community.
