The impact of your generosity
University of Missouri Extension opens doors to research-based knowledge for people of all ages and from all walks of life. Thanks to philanthropists across the state, 1.2 million Missourians access the university through MU Extension's community-based centers and online-education resources.
The region's cuisine emphasizes ample fruits, vegetables, whole grains, nuts, beans and olive oil, and of course, wine. Dairy products, fish and poultry are eaten occasionally and red meat less frequently.
Virgil Woolridge, a business specialist in Mexico, Mo., received the 2009 Pat and Tom Buchanan Professional Development Award. 
A generous gift to the MU Extension Loan and Fellowship Fund by retired extension field specialist Donald Broermann will help support extension staff who want to pursue professional improvement or graduate study. 
Proceeds from the Littrells' Practicing Community Development will benefit the Doris P. Littrell Scholarship for non-traditional students enrolled at the University through MU Direct and the Littrell-Timmons Community Development Academy.
