Communication

President Saner announced that there are many communication award opportunities with NACAA and encouraged applications from members.  Applications need to be submitted to Kevin Hansen.  The County Agent magazine will have an issue in early 2003 with the Awards information.  The information will also be available on the NACAA website.

 Scholarship

President Saner also mentioned scholarship opportunities.  NACAA has a scholarship program available to members nationwide.  There is a maximum about of $2,000 per person per lifetime.  Scholarships must be for education / professional improvement.  To apply, members must have contributed a minimum of $40 to the national scholarship fund.  There are two ways to meet the $40 minimum:  (1) cash donation made to MACAA treasurer Parman Green or (2) donate an item for the NACAA auction at the national meeting.  The amount the item brings will be credited in your name to the scholarship fund.  If you would like to donate an item, but are not able to attend the national meeting contact one of the MACAA officers to see about transporting the item.  If you are unsure of the amount you have contributed over the years, Randy Saner has the master list of contributions and can look up the information.

Randy Saner has been serving on the national NACAA Scholarship Committee.  He highly encouraged applications from our Missouri association.  He is willing to proof any applications and make suggestions to our members.  The details of the scholarship application can be found in the awards issue of the NACAA County Agent magazine or on the NACAA website.
