Don’t Forget Your Membership Dues

Please do not forget to send in your membership dues of $70. This pays for both your state and national membership.  The funds from dues are split where $20 stays in the state and $50 goes to the national organization.  Below is a list of current members.  Make sure your name is there.  Our association depends on your dues to stay active and continue participation with the national organization.  Send your dues made out to “MACAA” to Parman Green, MACAA Treasurer, 111 North Mason, Carrollton, MO  64633.  Parman will need to finalize membership with NACAA on March 15. (Tim Schnakenberg, MACAA President Elect)

NACAA Committees

Committee involvement represents the lifeblood of NACAA.  It’s the success of committee activities that make NACAA beneficial to its members.  Each year at the annual meeting there are some outstanding opportunities for professional development, whether in educational seminars at the professional improvement section, poster sessions or achievement recognition.

Let me encourage the Missouri association members to participate in these committees.  Involvement allows you to get to know colleagues from other states and when committee members work together the time commitment is often not significant.  A major incentive for participation is the expenses that can be paid for attending the Annual Meeting.  Committee Vice-Chairs may receive a reimbursement for their registration fees each year and Committee Chairs receive all expenses paid for attending the Annual Meeting.  This certainly saves on expenses in your state Professional Improvement allowance.

The following is a list of openings for Council Chair, Committee Chairs and Vice Chairs that North Central region members are eligible to apply for in 2004.  You can see there are plenty to choose from.  If you are interested in participating please let me know ASAP and please make application through the NACAA website at <http://www.nacaa.com/Committees.htm>. You will need to submit your applications by the end of the month.  More information about these committees is on the website.
