4-H Attendee Application

 

Camp will be June 4-6 at Camp Colburn with counselors arriving on Monday, June 3.  Those who wish to attend 4-H Camp are to have Camp applications in no later than April 19, 2019 at 3:30 p.m. All applications should be turned into the Macon MU Extension Office.

Check in begins at 7:15 a.m.

Event times are 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

This will be a youth training/skills demonstration event in an educational format. Tony Perryman, Missouri Department of Agriculture; Jesse Lyons, University of Missouri; Kim Cash, Lincoln University; will be providing the subject matter content with assistance from students from Mizzou. This will be a great opportunity for leaders to pick up information and materials they can take back home to assist with their poultry training and programs and for members to hone their skills in a voluntary “just for fun” quiz bowl.

Open to all 4-Hers, but participants 14 and over before Jan. 1 will be placed in the senior division. It is $20 for both the youth and adult registrations until May 15, and then youth and adult registrations will be $25 until the June 1 deadline.

Horse Judging Contest

APHA & ApHC are pleased to invite all young horse judging enthusiasts to compete in its annual Youth Horse Judging Contest, held in conjunction with the APHA Youth World Championship Paint Horse Show and the ApHC Youth World Championship Show. Individuals and teams are invited to compete in two age divisions—13 & Under and 14-18. There is no limit to the number of contestants or teams that a single institution can enter (ex. a county can enter multiple teams or have only individual contestants compete).

Top individuals and teams take home great awards and prizes!

•             $500 Scholarship to the High-Point Individual in each age group

•             Gist Belt Buckles & Cinch Jackets to Overall High-Point Teams in each age group

•             Top 5 Teams in Reasons, Halter & Performance categories in each age group receive recognition & prizes

•             Top 10 Individuals in Reasons, Halter & Performance categories in each age group receive recognition & prizes


The Horse Judging Contest is on Saturday, June 29th and Awards Ceremony Breakfast on Sunday, June 30th.

2019 Century Farms Application 

 If your farm has been in your family since Dec. 31, 1919, you can apply to have it recognized as a Missouri Century Farm.

To qualify, the same family must have owned the farm for 100 consecutive years. The line of ownership from the original settler or buyer may be through children, grandchildren, siblings, and nephews or nieces, including through marriage or adoption. The farm must be at least 40 acres of the original land acquisition and make a financial contribution to the overall farm income.

Applicants certified as owners of a 2019 Missouri Century Farm will be recognized by the MU Extension center in the county where the farm is located. Applicants are presented with a sign and a certificate.
