Association of Small Business Development Centers

Community Development Society

Joint Council of Extension Professionals

An association of University of Missouri Extension faculty engaged in community economic development programming

Our members represent the fields of business development, community development, continuing education, and related disciplines.

Welcome to our new colleagues and MACEDEP members!  We're pleased to have two new regional community development specialists in NE Missouri, John Gulick,in Pike County, and Chris Kempke will be joining us June 1 in Scotland County.  One of the benefits of MACEDEP is that your first year's membership is free!

Check out our new brochure, created by Richard Proffer and students from Southeast Missouri State University.  Well done!

Congratulations to Connie Mefford, who was elected to represent the North-Central region for two years on the board of the National Association of Community Development Extension Professionals (NACDEP).  We know you will represent Missouri and all your states well!

Congratulations to Kara Lubischer and Kathy Macomber for being selected to participate in the National Extension Leadership Development (NELD) program.  We're so pleased to have these two leaders representing Missouri.

The association bylaws were revised extensively in 2014.  Notable changes include the addition of a Life Membership, providing new hires with a free first year's membership (UMEA provides a similar benefit), and adding a dissolution of assets clause.

Award categories were also revised in 2014 to be compatible with national (NACDEP) awards.  There are now five award categories:  Distinguished Career; Educational Technology; Excellence in Teamwork; Cross-Program Award; and Excellence in Community and Resource Development Program Award.  Note that in some cases an individual and/or team award is possible.
