Dear
Colleagues of the Third Age,
“The winter that would not go away” finally has yielded, replaced with wonderful, plush, lush green everywhere. Overnight! Spurred on by the renewal, considerable activity is happening in our offices, now, as we do what’s needed to bring you back into our classrooms for the 2008 four-week summer session. Note, please, that it’s not simply an abbreviated semester; it will be an abbreviated week, too -- with formal classes meeting only Monday through Wednesday. But wonderful films will fill Friday afternoons with a new film series director, us.
Three days per week should be enough “cognitive exercise” for the month of June, with some pleasure and reflectiveness on Fridays. No classes in July and August. However, the beat goes on during those two months with the Friday Film Festival. With no classes competing with the film schedule, you will be able to take a leisurely lunch, then join us for the film at 1:30 p.m. -- that’s a one-hour later start time for the films in June, July and August -- and right up until the fall semester launches Monday, Sept. 15.
Six courses will be offered this summer. They’re wonderfully different.
You may well wish to take all six courses -- and certainly we will aid and abet you in that pursuit.
That’s it. We have extended the invitation. Registration is in your court. Coffee, iced tea, comfortably cool classrooms, camaraderie and new knowledge await you.
All the best, always,
