Winter Dairy Day

January 31st at the St. Peters Evangelical United Church of Christ in Billings MO. Topics are: Getting control of your bulk tank somatic cell count by Ted Probert, MU Extension Dairy Specialist; Calving 101 by Dr. Scott Poock, MU Extension State Dairy Veterinarian; Master Milk Fever by Reagan Bluel, MU Extension Dairy Specialist; Stump the Experts (bring any questions for the panel of presenters). Monett Dairy Day

February 8th at the Monett Armory in Monett MO. Topics are: How to make the most of your DHIA records by Reagan Bluel, MU Extension Dairy Specialist; Cost analysis of feeding raw milk to calves during spring flush by Stacey Hamilton, MU Extension Dairy Specialist, Columbia MO; How to contract milk and feed for more consistent budgeting by Joe Horner, University of Missouri Agriculture Economist, Columbia MO; Dry cow rations, Big bang for your buck. Workshop begins at 10:00 a.m. and cost is $5.00 at the door and includes a catered lunch. Private Pesticide Applicator Training

The training provides certification to obtain a Missouri Private Pesticide Applicators License for agricultural producers and will also count for recertification requirements by the state. The training will not certify for commercial applicators licenses. Must be 18 years old or older. The training will last 2 1/2 to 3 hours. Cost for the training is $25.00 for all who attend. (unlike the past, you do not need to bring your copy of the Private Applicator Reference Manual M87). Training is conducted by Tim Schnakenberg, Regional Agronomy Specialist (417-357-6812). If weather is an issue, please call either 417-357-6812 or 417-838-8405 to confirm the program will proceed.
