Business Environmental Risk Management (BERM)
BERM is an educational program designed to help crop and livestock producers understand and manage their potential environmental risks. BERM allows a person to find a particular parcel of land on an aerial photograph and then create a report outlining environmental characteristics of that land. Links on the report access additional resources for managing the effect of agriculture on the environment.
Horizon Point is an educational program of the University of Missouri Commercial Agriculture Program that is designed to make precise weather information available to Missouri farmers in a way that assists them in managing their business. Site-specific weather reports and advisories are sent to participating farmers via quickly downloaded emails.
Missouri Show-Me-Select Replacement Heifer Program
The Show Me Select Replacement Heifer Program is focused entirely on Missouri's farmers and is dependent upon active participation from regional extension livestock specialists and local veterinarians, each of which are critical components of the agricultural sector of this state. This program is unique in that it is first and foremost, an educational program targeted at improving production efficiency through increased use of existing technology, coupled with the marketing component. Private Pesticide Applicator Training
MU Extension provides private pesticide applicator training for producers as required for Missouri Department of Agriculture certification. Individuals must purchase or bring a copy of MU Extension publication M87, Private Pesticide Applicator Reference Manual, to the training. Manuals may be purchased for $12 at the extension center.
