Focus on Kids
Focus on Kids is a mandatory educational program for parents who are separating or divorcing.
The workshop covers the effect of divorce on children, children's reactions to divorce, helping children cope with divorce and effective co-parenting. The workshop will help parents:
- Understand the importance of sustained, supportive, and nurturing involvement by both parents.
- Understand child and adolescent developmental needs, abilities, and common reactions to divorce.
- Learn about specific behaviors that are helpful in a co-parenting situation and behaviors that should be avoided.
Participants will receive a certificate of attendance when they attend the entire session and complete an evaluation. The certificate is presented to the court to show completion of the Focus on Kids class.
