Nina Chen, Ph.D. Human Development Specialist (BLUE SPRINGS, MO – Aug. 25, 2006) University of Missouri Extension will offer a workshop on “Is Block Play Really Important?” at 6:00 p.m., Oct. 5, 2006, at the Extension Center, 1501 NW Jefferson St., Blue Springs. Dr. Nina Chen, University of Missouri human development specialist, says, “This workshop will focus on the characteristics of each of the stages of block play for toddlers, preschoolers and school-age children. We’ll also discuss ways for child care providers to enhance block play and provide strategies for handling problems between children in the block play area.” Participants will earn 2 clock hours after completing the workshop; 0.2 Continuing Education Units are available.
