(BLUE SPRINGS, MO. – Sept. 10, 2006) University of Missouri Extension will offer a workshop on “Teaching Children About Nutrition” at 6 pm, Nov. 2, 2006, at the University of Missouri Extension Center, 1501 NW Jefferson, Blue Springs, Mo.
“Young children learn through all their senses,” says Dr. Nina Chen, University of Missouri Extension human development specialist. “Learning about healthy food through tasting encourages them to try healthier foods. The experience of cooking and gardening also leads children to ask for fresh fruits and vegetables.”
Participants will earn 2 clock hours after completing the workshop; 0.2 Continuing Education Units are available. The registration fee is $15. For more information, contact University of Missouri Extension at 816-252-5051.
