(BLUE SPRINGS, MO – Aug. 6, 2007) A Positive Parenting class will be available from University of Missouri Extension this fall at the Truman Medical Center at Hospital Hill and Lakewood. Participants will learn practical parenting strategies for promoting self-esteem and building responsibility in children. The schedule for Hospital Hill is 6:00 p.m. - 7:30 p.m., Sept. 19 and 26 and Oct. 3, 10, 17 and 24, 2007. Lakewood classes will be held 6:30 p.m. - 8:00 p.m., Sept. 24 and Oct. 1, 8, 15, 22 and 29, 2007. Topics of discussion in the parenting course include discipline, limits and consequences, listening skills, managing anger and challenging behaviors. The registration fee is $45 per person; nine clock hours and 0.9 CEUs are available for early childhood educators. To register, contact Truman Medical Center at (816) 404-2575.
