Extension offers autism workshop

(BLUE SPRINGS, MO – Feb. 15, 2008) University of Missouri Extension is partnering with Truman Medical Center to offer a workshop on Autism and Children at 6 pm, April 10, 2008, at the Extension Center, 1501 NW Jefferson St., in Blue Springs.

The workshop will help child-care providers and early childhood teachers better understand autism in children - common characteristics of autism and Asperger’s, treatment interventions for school and other environments and resources and referrals.

Participants will receive 2 clock hours after completion of the workshop; 0.2 Continued Education Units are available. The registration fee is $15. For more information or to register, please contact University of Missouri Extension at (816) 252-5051.
