         (Blue Springs, MO-Aug. 18, 2007) University of Missouri Extension will offer a workshop on “Making Math Fun” from 6:00 to 8:00 pm on Oct. 4, 2007 at the University of Missouri Extension Center (1501 NW Jefferson Street, Blue Springs, Missouri).

        This workshop will focus on what early childhood educators can do to help children reach the goals set forth in the Missouri Pre-K Mathematics Standards.  Educators will learn new ideas for encouraging children’s math knowledge and a variety of ways to build math learning into routine interactions with children.

        Participants will receive two clock hours after completing the training; 0.2 Continuing Education Units are available.  The registration fee is $15 per person.  For more information or registration, contact the University of Missouri Extension Center at 816-252-5051.
