Title: Performance Management

Description:
Performance management is key to staff success and achieving
organizational goals. It is an on-going communication process between
supervisors and employees that includes establishing performance standards,
utilizing effective feedback, and establishing a plan for setting and
achieving goals.
Outcomes:
- List the four steps in Performance Management.
- Write realistic and appropriate performance standards using measurable
criteria.
- Provide factual and constructive feedback regarding significant
performance events using the SBI
(situation, behavior, impact) model.
- Prepare for and conduct a formal performance evaluation.
Evaluation method: Survey attendees for impact on work environment two to four weeks after the training.
Expectation for participants: Participants will participate in activities and discussions in the session.
Target audience: All MU Extension Employees
Instructional length: 3 hours
