Child Care Provider Training

Child Care The Kid Care Workshop Series, offered in a multi-session format beginning in September and ending in May, provides educational workshops to both Head Start staff and to other child care center employees. The workshops are facilitated by Brenda Bell, Human Development Specialist. Other professionals from the area assist as guest instructors. Resources for the workshops include the National Network for Child Care, The Sharing and Caring Day care Newsletter, and The National Network for Family Resiliency. Head Start staff from six counties will participate in the training, earning Continuing Education Units toward the Child Development Associate Certification. Pre registration is required at a cost of $25.00 per center, and $5.00 for each additional staff member from that center. The Kid Care Workshop Series schedule begins in the fall each year.

The Head Start staff session are held at the West Plains Civic Center during daytime hours, and the session for other Child Care Providers is held during the evening hours at the Howell County University Extension Center at 217 South Aid Avenue, West Plains.
