Nutrition and Lifeskills for Missouri Families

What are two factors that contribute to heart disease?

Which type of cholesterol is good? Which is bad?

Which fat is best for you? You can choose from saturated fats, monounsaturated fats, polyunsaturated fats, or trans fatty acids?

What are the guidelines established by the American Heart Association?

Case Study:

Melanie is a 42-year-old mother of two; she leads a high stress life. She works 10 hours a day and is the sole provider in the family. She doesn't have time to eat a healthy diet or exercise. She hasn't had a doctor's checkup in years; she has neither the time nor the money. The past couple of days, she has had tingling up and down her arms and sometimes a pain in her chest. What do you think she is experiencing and what do you think she should do?
