Expanded Food and Nutrition Education Program

Description: The Expanded Food and Nutrition Education Program (EFNEP) helps Missourians with limited resources achieve lifelong health and fitness. The program is for adults who care for children. Participants receive 6-12 lessons over the course of the program. Classes are held in community settings.

Curriculum/program overview: The goal of Missouri's Expanded Food and Nutrition Education Program (EFNEP) is to assist Missourians with limited resources in achieving lifelong health and fitness. The primary target audience is women with children, but the program also works with Missouri’s 4-H Youth Development Programs to offer nutrition education to groups of youth.

EFNEP teaches healthy habits through interactive discussions and hands-on activities. Families learn about healthier food choices, physical activity, stretching food dollars and food safety.
