Curriculum/program overview: The SHED Grief Tools Education and Training program provides participants with knowledge and skills to proactively meet the mental health needs of children and adolescents coping with death and non-death losses across various settings as they survive, heal and evolve through death and loss. The unique training includes education around diversity and complicated grief for youth coping with multiple losses. The training is targeted toward populations that work with children and adolescents – early childhood educators, teachers (K-12), counselors, social workers, nurses, coaches, administrators, program directors of after-school and summer programs, and parents/caregivers. Upon completion of the training, the participant may be equipped with a kit that includes materials for children, teens, and parents/caregivers on death, loss, grief and coping, and activities.
