Description: The Ounce of Prevention: Addressing Health Issues of Adolescents and Young Adults program provides education to teachers and youth workers in the areas of prevention of dating violence, teen pregnancy, birth defects and STDs. This program also teaches healthy relationship skills.
Curriculum/program overview: Ounce of Prevention addresses health issues of adolescents and young adults. The program provides education to teachers and youth workers in the areas of prevention of dating violence, teen pregnancy, birth defects, and STDs. In addition, this program teaches healthy relationship skills. The information for this program is presented in a variety of ways such as graphic organizers, illustrations, study sheets, group activities, videos, e-learning activities, a teacher tutorial Moodle, and a student enrichment resources Moodle. This variety allows for a broader range of learning styles and helps to keep adolescents and young adults engaged while they are being taught important information.
