2000 HEED Fund Grant Success Stories
Parenting
Corners
|
 |
| Personnel from several human
service agencies in southeast Missouri were able to establish parenting corners in Cape
Girardeau County with the assistance of a HEED Fund grant. Parenting corners are mobile
displays that provide parents with access to a variety of parenting resources, including
free printed information, videos and books available for check out, and telephone access
to child and family professionals. All parents need information and support, regardless of
where they live and their socioeconomic status. When established throughout a community,
parenting corners give parents and caregivers more convenient access to information that
can help them be successful in their role. Mary Gosche, Human Development Regional
Specialist and HEED grant recipient, used the HEED funding to purchase materials for the
parenting corners. She is pictured here with Glenda Smith and Keely Martin, members of the
resource review committee. |
