About Us

The Center for Adolescent Sexuality, Pregnancy and Parenting provides
educational programs and applied research to prevent and ameliorate the negative effects of high-risk sexual behaviors and early childbearing.

CASPP provides community professionals with training on how to teach sexual decision making, parenting and relationship skills to adolescents. We address teen sexuality and parenting issues from a comprehensive perspective, including the complex interplay of critical medical, social-emotional, developmental, and cognitive factors that need to be addressed to prevent negative outcomes such as HIV/AIDS, sexually transmitted diseases, pregnancy, and poor parenting.

Two programming areas we focus on are preventing high risk sexual behavior and programs to ameliorate problems of young parenting.

Most recently, we received a significant grant to provide relationships skills training to young, unwed couples.
